Ember

    Ember

    It suddenly,
    Because it could,
    Because a pointer
    Cercumstance prevailed,
    became a soured
    What the hell
    Lets have a laugh
                  day.

Without a blink or a rumble or a chill.
Without “now” is where I am.
    Complaining?
    Yes. From lack of will.
No pain for me. No rocket burst.
    I blinked
    And suddenly
    Horridly
    No scan or search.
There for the your great delight
    Is she
Who just in every way, was she,
Was bright and with life and love,
    As is she,
Dumb as the back door looked
    Said the words

    Goodbye.

    Each eye said it.

    I rebounded.
    Refused astounded
    Confused then sounded
    The last alarm.

For I knew though I denighed it,
    Well I knew
    though so profound it
    Washed me
    Then washed her away.

    For you a day
    Turned for the worse
    For me returning
    I Saw and in seeing,
    Within
    Without rehersal,
    Saw such a damnable curse

Not very sober when I wrote this and extremely distraught. Monday 26th June 2006
