Once

Once

Once there was a little boy
Whose face shone bright
Whose life was joy
He ran and laughed
The daylight through
Within the garden walls.

Once there was a sister who
With hair so fair
With eyes so blue,
Ran and laughed
And sang her song.
So happy were her calls.

Together they would play there.
With life long friend
The labrador.
Who chased the ball
Who found the stick
Who would be theirs forever.

Then the home was shattered through.
Harsh hardened words
Cut deep, cut down.
The laughter stopped.
Their world explodes.
In tatters ever after.
