Waiting at the corner

Waiting at the corner.

Though I no longer see you
As you come and go
Or share, in quiet moments,
The peace I sometimes know,
Yet I yearn to hold you
To show your safe and sound.
To show you need not worry
Even with both feet, off the ground.

I long to sail a sail boat
And watch your shining eyes.
Trusting and expectant
And then fly you over skies.
I long to see your joyfulness
At being alive today.
Perhaps there is a reason, though,
Who could ever say.

A leap of heart's expectation
Blends with laughter, life and fear
As mind explores the open doors
Where hope is ever near.
As boyent in the sun's warm rays
As in the evening rain.

Please,
Forget the past,
Be dammed and dashed
And be a boy again.
