Watching for the Sun

I am watching for the sun.

I am watching for the sun
To shine over here.
Sitting on my own, alone
Not one thing seems clear
Is there nothing I can do
To see the day?
Take hold of your life and turn
A somewhere voice will say.
But there’s no-one who can help
To turn me away.
You must try once more, again.
But I fail to see.

Darkness is a friend of mine
I wish would leave
Darkness holds and folds and grows
In a tight and woven weave.
If only someone else could see
But I can’t tell.
In the corner of the room
I sense you there.
Over and above the gloom
Of my despair.
Where have you been so long?
No, your always there.

Let me talk to you a while.
Tell you all of how I’ve been.
There have been so many years
Of an in between.
Where every friend I had was lost
In my waking dream
I had lost all that I knew.
Brought down upon my knees.
All I saw was me and life
You were lost in distant trees
But know I’ve found you, you must know
I will never ever leave.
